About Captis

Great photography shouldn't require owning every lens

Some lenses are worth owning. Others are needed for one trip, one event, one project—or simply to try something new.

-

Captis gives photographers across the UK simple access to premium Sony E and Nikon Z equipment without the cost of buying it.

-

Premium lenses. Simple hire.

-

Built by photographers, for photographers

Captis was created around a simple idea: hiring should make it easier to use the equipment you need, when you need it.

-

Whether you're photographing wildlife, motorsport, a wedding, a landscape or a portrait, you can hire the right lens without committing to a permanent purchase.

-

Simple, straightforward hire

Choose your equipment.
Choose your dates.
Pay online.
We deliver it.
You create something.
Send it back.

-

Your equipment is carefully checked, securely packaged and sent using tracked UK delivery. We arrange the return too, so you don't need to find your own courier.

-

Qualifying hires include Damage Protection, with a maximum accidental-damage excess of £350. Most customers won't need to provide extensive documentation or pay a large security deposit, although additional verification may occasionally be required.

-

Equipment worth hiring

We focus on a carefully selected range of Sony E and Nikon Z lenses for:

- Wildlife and birds

- Motorsport and aviation

- Weddings and events

- Landscape and travel

- Portraiture

Our collection will grow according to what photographers actually want to hire. If there's something you'd like to see, let us know—your request could help decide what we add next.

-

A smaller rental company. Deliberately

Captis is an independent UK business, growing carefully around real photographers rather than trying to stock everything.

That means every item can be individually checked, customer feedback can shape the collection and help remains personal.

-

Specialist enough to know the equipment.
Small enough to care where it's going.

-

What does Captis mean?

Photography is about capturing something that may never happen in quite the same way again.

The equipment matters because of what it allows you to capture.

You don't need to own every lens. You just need access to the right one when it matters.
